Explain the process of emotional contagion. Give an example of how this can occur in a small group setting

Please provide the best answer for the statement.

Answer: In emotional contagion, emotions pass from one person to another. It applies to both happiness and depression. According to one view of the process, you perceive an emotional expression of another person, you mimic this emotional expression (unconsciously or otherwise), and the feedback you get from expressing the emotion creates in you a replication of the other person’s feelings. For example, a group of people are watching a movie together in a theater. One of them begins to laugh at a particular character, and soon others are laughing too. Whenever this character appears, someone begins to laugh, which continually leads to even more laughter throughout the theater. At the end, someone begins to applaud and soon everyone is applauding. This is the result of emotional contagion.
