Explain the components of planning

What will be an ideal response?

A plan is an expression of the actions you intend to take and the objective you hope to accomplish in the future. It can be expressed either verbally (informally) or in writing (formally). Plans consider the resources and people available, the nature of the work that will be accomplished, and the environment in which the work will be performed. Planning helps us to bring order to complicated, chaotic situations. However, the basic reason why we plan is to anticipate the future, about which we are uncertain.
Planning is not just the manager's job; planning is something that all employees do. The more employees plan, the more responsibility they take for getting their work done. This is good for two reasons. First, managers do not have time to plan every detail of work for every employee. Second, in some situations, employees are better able to plan the technical details of the work than their managers are because of the nature of the job.
