Discuss which type of recruitment method is best suited the communicative organization. Be sure to include your rationale in your answer

What will be an ideal response?

The practice of realistic recruitment is well suited to the communicative
organization. As illustrated in the chapter, traditional recruitment practices can contribute
to unmet expectations, dissatisfaction, and turnover. Realistic recruitment is an attempt to
treat recruits in a more ethical manner, with the hope that expectations will come close to
matching reality, and as a result satisfaction, performance, and job retention will be
increased. In other words, realistic recruitment is an attempt to anticipate and address
misunderstandings before they occur.
Realistic recruitment is not a simple process; it requires dedication to changing
entrenched practices and an attention to communication skills. It brings into play several
of the characteristics of social interaction advocated in the CO model, particularly
exchange assessment and psychological immediacy. Whenever RJPs are used, the
principle of exchange assessment needs to be incorporated. Exchange assessment
encourages the communicator to consider the most appropriate medium-written, video, or
verbal-for the message, as well as the best time to communicate it.
