Citizens for a Free Kuwait listed dozens of members from all walks of life. However, a large majority of its funding came from the Kuwaiti royal family. Is it appropriate to characterize this group as a "grassroots" organization?

Again, it depends upon one's values and perspective. While it is true that Citizens
for a Free Kuwait represented a broad-based coalition of people, its financial
muscle came primarily from just one interest group, the ruling family. The
organization may have been grassroots in name and structure, but it certainly
wasn't in spirit and finances.
