Identify and give an example of two ways to make the words in your speech more understandable, personal, and informal
What will be an ideal response?
Answers will vary. Some ways to make your language more understandable, informal, and personal in your speech include the following: 1) Make all your ideas, including difficult concepts, intelligible and easy to absorbin one hearing. 2) Use simple rather than complex words. 3) Use concrete rather than abstract words. 4) Use lots of pronouns like I, me, you, and our. 5) Use contractions like can't rather than cannot or I'll rather than I will. 6) Do not write your speech out word for word, because this will sound like you're reading and will lose that conversational quality. 7) Instead, outline your speech and refer to it as you speak to the audience. 8) Title your speech with a very brief title of two to four words that will get the attention of listeners and relate to your topic.
