Define statistics. Explain when they should be used in a presentation and the guidelines for

using them effectively.

What will be an ideal response?

Statistics are numerical reporting of facts. They should be used to support arguments or
to make a point; they add believability to the speaker. When using statistics, round off
large numbers (this helps listeners), use visual aids to help the audience comprehend
them, and cite your sources (author, title, date).
