Define and give an example of diffusion of innovations
What will be an ideal response?
Examples will vary.
Diffusion of innovations suggests that in order for people to accept a new technology like a computer, they have to see it as useful and compatible with their values and lifestyles. Specifically, if computers are valuable to a person's loved ones, he/she is most likely to use computers as well. For example, if I want my grandmother to get a computer and use the Internet, I would need to show and explain to her how it can be used to keep in touch with me through e-mail, Skype, etc.
