You are opening a new coffee house specializing in espresso and pastries. You notice that applicants range from teenagers to retired workers in their sixties

You have two types ofpositions: baristas who make the espresso drinks and counter/kitchen help who take orders,
wash dishes, and work at the cash register. Discuss who you might hire for each type of position and why.

What will be an ideal response?

Younger workers have more physical energy and stamina, so hiring some for
counter/kitchen help would be wise. Older workers are more efficient at combining
tasks, so some barista positions should be filled by them since those skills will be
helpful in rush times. The barista position is more complex, and it supports the
intellectual functioning of older workers. But younger workers may teach older
workers about the latest espresso drinks, so some younger workers, too, should be
hired as baristas.
