Compare the characteristics of a Type A personality and a Type B personality. Then explain what separates a hardy personality from a Type A, and who is more likely to have a heart attack

What will be an ideal response?

Answer will include the characteristics of the Type A, such as being competitive, being achievement-oriented, having a sense of time urgency, and possessing chronic anger or hostility. Type A people believe that with enough effort they can overcome any obstacle, and they "push" themselves accordingly. Type B shows an absence of these characteristics and are less likely to have a heart attack. Unlike the hostile Type A who is more prone to having a heart attack, Type A's who show a hardy personality tend to be unusually resistant to stress. They exhibit a sense of commitment to self, work, and family; to feel in control of their lives and work; and to have a tendency to see life as a series of challenges, rather than threats. Thus, the hardy personality has less of a risk of a heart attack than the hostile Type A.
