Compare the advantages and disadvantages of advertising in magazines and newspapers

What will be an ideal response?

Magazines and newspapers are both likely to lend credibility to advertisements, but magazines give advertisements a greater sense of prestige thanks to their ability to reproduce high-quality images on glossy paper. In comparison, newspaper images are often black and white, and much lower quality paper is used. Two other advantages of magazines over newspapers are their long life and the pass-along effect. Consumers may keep and read magazines for 30 days or more, and a single issue of a magazine may have multiple readers. Newspapers have a much shorter life?usually one day?and have limited potential for pass-along. However, magazines require a great deal of lead time. Newspapers are much more flexible in terms of scheduling. Finally, magazines and newspapers target different types of audiences. Magazines are effective for targeting consumer segments by interests and activities, while newspapers are more effective at targeting consumer segments by geographic location.
