What should child caregivers be informed of regarding the oral health of their child(ren)?
What will be an ideal response?
Caregivers should be advised about how to avoid the development of early childhood caries. This should include providing the caregiver with examples of healthy snacks, and the appropriate use of bottles and avoiding the use of "sippy" cups. Caregivers should also to be advised about recommended fluoride treatments. Finally, caregivers should discuss the importance of starting good oral hygiene practices at a young age, including when to start brushing the baby's teeth.
