How might a work sample validate the selection process in this scenario?

What will be an ideal response?

Answer: Work sampling attempts to simulate or duplicate the job the person would be doing, if hired. The underlying rationale is as follows: If one performs well or poorly on the work sample, then it is likely that he/she would perform similarly in the real job. Work sampling makes a "reasonably accurate prediction of how a candidate will do in a job." If this technique were applied across the board to all of the candidates for the part-time teaching job, then it would add validity to the selection process. Unfortunately, the time and cost required to implement this technique may prohibit its use at Walton Elementary.
