Prospecting and qualifying begin the process, followed by the preapproach. Next, the salesperson makes an approach to make a presentation. Handling objections follows, leading into closing the sale. Each sale requires a follow up to make it complete. For most salespeople, especially new ones, the closing step is the most difficult and requires much skill. It takes practice for asking for the sale to become a natural progression of the dialogue between seller and buyer.
