Discuss three ways that schools can increase adolescent engagement in school. Include what research has found to be the most successful school climate

What will be an ideal response?

Answers will vary but should include the following: Keep high schools small
(between 200-400 students) so that teachers and staff have the opportunity to know
every student. Encourage extracurricular activities, which elicit positive emotions and
school bonding; the more varied the activities and the more students in them, the
fewer dropouts and the higher achievement result. Reduce harassment with clear
rules for student behavior, rewards for attendance, and more sporting events.
