Describe an effective apology and explain when it's most appropriate to offer it

What will be an ideal response?

Answer: An apology is an explicit admission that we made an error; we are also asking the person we offended to forgive us. The most effective apologies express that we were wrong (not simply sorry), we are sincerely remorseful, we want to do something to repair the damage, and we understand how much we may have hurt our communication partners. Researchers have found that it's best not to apologize right after we make mistakes, but will be perceived as most sincere and heartfelt if the people we are apologizing to believe we truly understand how our mistakes hurt them and that we want to repair the damage, and these conclusions only come with time.
