Use the criteria for determining the richness of communication channels to compare face-toface, interpersonal communication with e-mail communication
What will be an ideal response?
Face-to-face interaction is richer than e-mail. Because the participants are face-to-face,
the amount of feedback is maximized. All the elements of communication–vocal, visual,
olfactory, and others–are available. E-mail is limited almost exclusively to visual channels and
the ability to communicate emotion and other nonverbal subtleties of communication are
extremely limited.
