Summarize the steps involved in building a story using video and audio from start to finish.
What will be an ideal response?
First the reporter should have a good idea of the type of story he or she wants to tell. The reporter should then shoot images and interview people in a way that will support the purpose of the story. After this, the reporter can review the footage and flesh out the script. Then the reporter should decide how he or she wants to assemble the package. A script can be written based on the footage shot. On the other hand, the script could be written earlier. If this is done, footage can be shot to match the script. The reporter should review shots carefully, picking out the best ones to support the story. The types of shots used should vary. For example, there should be a mix of long shots, medium shots, and close-ups. Each shot, though, should fit with what the script is trying to convey. The shots should be assembled in a logical order and trimmed to the desired length. Transitions can then be added where needed between shots. Then graphics such as charts and graphs can be added.
