What will be an ideal response?
A full listing of career fields and jobs are listed on pages 6 and 7. An example answer for one of these positions follows.
One position that requires careful communication is the job of a diplomat. For this career, one must carefully consider all the elements of the Human Communication in Society Model to perform well. A diplomat frequently interacts with individuals who have different culture, individual and societal forces, and fields of experience. For example, a US Diplomat to China must take into account customs, language and expectations of the Chinese culture compared to American culture in order to communicate clearly and respectfully. Likewise, individual and societal forces will influence how the diplomat is received and expectations for his or her behavior. The sex of the diplomat probably has bearing on the interaction and expectations of the Chinese contact. Furthermore, if this is the first diplomatic meeting, compared to a longer relationship, expectations and protocols are probably more rigid. Finally, if this is a friendly diplomatic visit compared to a diplomatic visit in response to an offense, the interaction will be different due to the context and field of experience.
