Why is it difficult for people in Western cultures to say goodbye to loved ones as they approach death?
What will be an ideal response?
In many cultures death is not discussed. Saying goodbye is difficult because it may be seen as a form of "giving up" or the rejection of possible recovery. Even physicians are reluctant to say that a person is going to die.
