Define oral hypoglycemic
What will be an ideal response?
Oral hypoglycemics are medications that lower blood sugar; some oral hypoglycemic medications include sulfonylureas, thiazolidinediones, alpha-glucosidase inhibitors and metformin. These medications are not effective in treating type I diabetes, in which there is no insulin production, but they have been found to be effective in some cases of type II diabetes.
