List the advantages and liabilities of individual versus group decision making. What types of decisions are best made by groups?

What will be an ideal response?

Groups increase the amount of knowledge and information available. Members are more likely to accept and be committed to decisions they participated in making. However, group decision making takes more time than individual decision making and can generate ill will and group conflict. Moreover, there is the possibility of members being intimidated by group leaders. Group decision making is superior for solving complex problems when the group is composed of heterogeneous members with complementary skills, and where the members are able to communicate freely.
