Why not combine USB and FireWire lines in a single cable to get the best of both worlds? Do you think that this is a good idea?

What will be an ideal response?

Why bother? USB 5.0 provides a comparable performance to the latest FireWire systems. You could create a
combined USB/FireWire cable system that automatically adapted to the appropriate standard. However, the
physical plugs and sockets are non?compatible. The two standards have different commercial backgrounds that
might be difficult to reconcile.
