The most appropriate solution would be to find a way to alter your facial expressions.
Additionally, one could compensate for the negative nonverbal message by accenting other
nonverbal behaviors that indicate interest and empathy such as attentive nonjudgmental eye
contact and positive movement or gesture that conveys attentiveness. Verbal feedback that is
polite and conveys interest would also be highly appropriate. Finally, message style and content
should be affirming or nonjudgmental.
