Explain how health communication interventions affect health

Health communication interventions use communication strategies to inform and influence decisions that affect health. Health communication strategies include media, advertising, and/or public relations. Like health education, the interventions seek to alter knowledge and beliefs and also provide reminders. Because of these targets, health communication campaigns are commonly referred to as awareness and information campaigns and are information based. Well-designed messages are a critical element of health communication campaigns. Well-designed messages originate from a clearly defined communication goal, that is, what will be achieved through the campaign. A message is then developed around a main idea or point that a planner wants to convey to the intended audience. Effective messages target particular antecedents and are communicated in a culturally appropriate and audience appealing manner.?
