Discuss the difference between tolerance and withdrawal

What will be an ideal response?

DSM-5 defines tolerance as requiring an increased dose of a substance to achieve the desired effect or experiencing a markedly reduced effect when consuming the usual dose. It defines withdrawal as a syndrome that occurs when concentrations of a substance decline in an individual who had maintained prolonged and heavy use of a substance. The physical symptoms of withdrawal vary by the class of substance, but physiological withdrawal symptoms are most apparent with alcohol, opioids, and nicotine and, to a lesser extent, sedatives, hypnotics, anxiolytics, and caffeine.
