What is a signpost? Give two specific examples, and explain their value in a speech

What will be an ideal response?

Answer: Examples and their values will vary, but answer should include that a signpost is an organizational cue for the audience’s ears. Signposts include previews, transitions, and summaries.
Previews are a statement of what is come to and help ensure audience members will anticipate and later remember the important points in a speech. The two types of previews are initial previews and internal previews
Transitions are a verbal or nonverbal signal that a speaker has finished discussion one idea and is moving to another. The two types of transitions are verbal and nonverbal.
Summaries recap what has been said and provides listeners with additional exposure to ideas that can help them grasp and remember the message. This includes the final summary and the internal summary.
