Explain the benefits of virtualization in faster server development.
What will be an ideal response?
For medium and large organizations that deploy many computers, server virtualization can save significant deployment time. Features such as live migration and the ability to use operating system images enable an organization to quickly set up a virtual machine. For some organizations, this means that a virtual machine with an operating system can be set up in much less than an hour and in some cases as fast as 15 minutes. Consider an organization that must set up 22 new servers. Without using virtual servers, this organization spends on average one to three days preparing the operating system and applications to set up one new server. This does not count the time waiting for new hardware to arrive for each new individualized server. By implementing a virtual server with virtual machines, the same company reduces the deployment time per server to under an hour. That represents a significant savings in computer personnel time.
