What will be an ideal response?

Selecting is sorting through the available information in the environment. Attending is
focusing on a specific message, whether for a short time or a longer duration.
Understanding is interpreting or making sense of the message you have received, which
includes relating it to what you already know. Remembering information is recalling
information either with short-term or long-memory, and is how we determine whether
or not a message was understood. Responding involves communicating with the other
person to let them know you understand their message, and may be either verbal or
nonverbal.
