Summarize what we can learn about a distribution from measures of variability.

What will be an ideal response?

Variability is simply a description of how different the scores are from one another in the distribution. If something varies, it means that it differs from other things in some way, such that high variability in a distribution means that the scores are widely spread out across the scale. Low variability means the opposite--that the scores are very similar and clustered around a middle value.
