Briefly define the following routing protocols: RIP, OSPF, and BGP
What will be an ideal response?
RIP: RIP is an Interior Gateway Protocol (IGP) where hop count is the measurement of ideal traffic routes. The maximum hop distance is 15 . (Anything higher is considered infinite.)
OSPF: OSPF is another IGP where the cost is link speed (cost) and is favored for rapid convergence.
BGP: This is the only Exterior Gateway Protocol (EGP) in widespread use; it used the number of autonomous system hops to determine link cost.
