Compare how a typical day in a small practice will contrast with a typical day in a large practice for a paralegal

What will be an ideal response?

Answers will vary, but students should recognize that a paralegal in a small practice will likely "wear many hats" including paralegal; front desk person; office supply purchaser; runner for courthouse, bank, and post office trips; and bookkeeper. A paralegal in a larger office will not assume so many different roles in one day. All personnel in larger offices tend to have a specialized duty like preparing estate administration documents all day, every day, in a large office. The paralegal in a larger firm working with an estate planning attorney will just do that type of work: no family law, no criminal law, no bankruptcy, etc. A runner typically will make those necessary trips to the post office and courthouse, not a paralegal in a larger firm. Thus, it is easy to envision that a paralegal in a smaller office will be in and out of the office on a daily basis; a paralegal in a larger office will spend much more time in the office, doing the same thing, day in and day out.
