Explain the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act

Designed to curb organized crime activity.
Requires a "pattern of racketeering activity" which is defined as the commission of at least two racketeering acts within a 10 year period.

Racketeering acts include murder, kidnapping, gambling, arson, robbery, bribery, extortion, dealing in pornography or narcotics, counterfeiting, embezzlement of pension, union or welfare funds, mail fraud, wire fraud, obstruction of justice or criminal investigation, interstate transportation of stolen goods, white slavery, fraid in the sale of securities, and other acts related to the Currency and Foreign Transactions Reporting Act.
