Muscle fibers go through a growth spurt but more so in boys than girls, making them much
stronger. The heart and lungs increase in size but moreso in boys, allowing them the ability to sustain
physical effort. Girls have more body fat which allows boys to have more endurance. Boys are often
at an advantage with regard to size, strength, and speed.
