U.S. citizens by tradition are capitalistic people, and, therefore, the traditions of libertarianism have great appeal. However, we are also a very pragmatic people, so the utilitarian view has appeal. There are many possible answers to this question, which should reveal information as to whether the students understand the basic theories and how they fit into our traditions.
