A complete response should include these concepts:
• Associated channels are channels that have strong functional connections with the primary channel.
• Identify the Yin/Yang complement to the primary channel based on the traditional Yin/Yang pairing of organs and channels.
• The Yin/Yang complement is generally found on the other side/surface of the limb or body from the channel in question.
• Identify the mirror channel on the opposite (right/left) side of the body.
• The 12 Jing channels are bilateral. The exact duplicate channel found on the opposite side of the body is the mirror channel.
• It is not unusual to have more pronounced tension on the mirror side of the primary affected channel.
• Identify the next channel(s) in line in the flow of Qi through the body.
• Use the flow of Qi chart to determine the channels that are next in line.
• The 24-hour flow of Qi through the body is a helpful guide for following the progression of pathology as it moves through the body.
