Patient was playing softball. He is the captain of his company's softball team. He had just hit a line drive and was attempting to make it to second base when he collided with the second baseman and fell. When he tried to stand back up, he felt intense pain in the lower right leg and had to be carried off the field. He was brought to the urgent care center for diagnosis and treatment. X-rays

revealed a comminuted fracture of the shaft of the right fibula. Patient requested an orthopedic consult, which the urgent care was unable to provide. He was transferred to the local hospital emergency department where he will be met by the orthopedist.
