One form of minimally invasive robotic surgery is called endoluminal surgery. Endoluminal surgery, which is also called natural orifice surgery, does not require incisions. For example, devices recently approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration give the surgeon access to the stomach through the patient's mouth.
