Please define the difference between shareware and freeware.

What will be an ideal response?

- Sharewareis a type of software licensed for free use during a trial period, after which users are supposed to pay a registration fee. Payment is on the honor system, however, so shareware authors collect only a fraction of the money they deserve for their programming efforts. Shareware users are encouraged to make copies of the software and distribute them to others. These shared copies provide a low-cost marketing and distribution channel.
- Freewareis copyrighted software that is available for free. Because the software is protected by copyright, you cannot do anything with it that is not expressly allowed by copyright law or by the author. Typically, the license for freeware permits you to use the software, copy it, and give it away, but does not permit you to alter it or sell it. Many utility programs and device drivers as well as some games are available as freeware.
