What is the Experience Sampling Method?

The Experience Sampling Method is used by researchers to study how adolescents use their time. Participants wear
an alarm watch that is remotely signaled to sound once every two hours during participants' waking hours. When
the alarm sounds, participants complete a self-report form that asks what they are doing, the situation, and their
emotional state.
