Describe how UNIX/Linux device drivers are slightly different from that in other OSs.
What will be an ideal response?
The central portion of the UNIX/Linux OS, the kernel, is where most of the UNIX/Linux device drivers are loaded. Device drivers are either in the form of kernel modules, which are pieces of code that must be linked into the kernel, or loadable modules, similar pieces of code that are not linked into the kernel but are loaded when the OS is started.
