Using the three elements of I. A. Richards' semantic triangle of meaning, diagram a word you or a classmate used in your speech that has more than one connotative meaning. Was the word used clearly in the speech? Why or why not?

What will be an ideal response?

Students should be able to diagram a word using the parts of the triangle and explain whether the word was used effectively. They should include some discussion of whether or not the word remained ambiguous.
