Contrast the two major views of color vision theory

What will be an ideal response?

One view is the trichromatic theory which argues that three classes of photoreceptors detect color, with each color representing a mixture of activation of the receptors. This view cannot account for negative color afterimages. In contrast, opponent process theory argues that for a system in which red light may activate a cell in the visual system, while green light inhibits that cell.
