What is unilateralism? How was it apparent in U.S. foreign policymaking in regard to the war in Iraq? How have unilateral actions prompted anti-Americanism around the globe?

What will be an ideal response?

An ideal response will:
1, Describe the policy of unilateralism as a belief that the United States should use its military and diplomatic power to pursue American national interests in the world, and do so on a "go it alone" basis, if necessary.
2, Discuss how President George W. Bush invaded Iraq even though many other countries, including U.S. allies, disapproved, and how he also renounced several international treaties.
3, Reveal how these and other unilateral actions such as the torture of prisoners at Abu Ghraib in Iraq and at Guantanamo caused anti-American sentiments not only in the Muslim world, but also in Western Europe, Latin America, Asia, Africa, and Russia.
