What are sources of equity ownership in a business? Are these sources cash resources?
The two sources of equity are:
1 ) Investments the owners make in the business
2 ) Retained earnings, or the profits that are retained within the company rather than being distributed to the owners.
An investment made by an owner could be a cash resource. However, retained earnings are not necessarily a cash resource. A firm may have a profit but have no cash to reinvest.
