What is an SNMP trap, and how is it configured?

What will be an ideal response?

When a certain type of event occurs on an SNMP agent (such as the system being restarted), the agent can send a message known as a trap to a management system. The management system that receives the trap is known as the trap destination. To configure a trap, you would type in the name of the community that the SNMP agent will send trap messages to and click Add to list. Next, you would click Add in the Trap destinations and type in the host name or IP address of the management system that will receive the trap messages.
