What does your text suggest about the difference in parenting styles and outcomes between families of differing ethnicity and socio-economic status?
What will be an ideal response?
There are some general differences in parenting styles among different ethnic groups; e.g., African American and Asian American parents are more likely to use authoritarian parenting styles than are white parents. Other contributing factors are the makeup of the family (one parent versus two) and the socio-economic status of the family. Those in lower socio-economic classes are less likely to use authoritative parenting. Middle class white families are the most likely to use authoritative parenting.
