What are the differences between anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa?

What will be an ideal response?

* Anorexia is a potentially life-threatening eating disorder occurring primarily in adolescent and young adult females; often includes an intense fear of becoming fat that leads to self-starvation and weight loss; and is accompanied by a strong belief that one is fat despite objective evidence to the contrary, associated with a wide range of medical problems including anemia, constipation, abdominal pain, and changes in sodium and potassium levels that can lead to cardiac arrest or kidney failure.
* Bulimia nervosa is an eating disorder in which an individual alternately consumes large amounts of food (gorging) and then empties the stomach (purging), usually by induced vomiting.
* Both have a distorted body image and both occur primarily in adolescent women.
* Victims of each take different approaches to losing weight (either purging or starvation), anorexia results in serious loss of weight, whereas individuals suffering from bulimia tend to maintain a constant body weight.
