Answer: Authoritarian parents are controlling, punitive, rigid, and cold. They value unquestioning obedience from their children. Permissive parents provide lax and inconsistent feedback and expect little of their children. Authoritative parents are firm and set clear and consistent limits but also are loving and emotionally supportive. Uninvolved parents show little interest in their children and are emotionally detached.
