What is the principal challenge for marketers using social networks?
What will be an ideal response?
Social networks vary in content. Some are used strictly for socialization and networking, while others are focused on highly specialized products, specific issues and particular lifestyles. There is probably one social network suited for any product that a marketer cares to promote. While targeting specific audiences via social networks seems rather easy, using social networks effectively can pose certain challenges for marketers. The main difficulty is that a marketer's visibility within a social network can become counterproductive to the marketer because of potential negative attitudes of network users toward the presence of an overtly active marketer. Marketers need to be able to show precisely how they will add value to an online community.
