Discuss when intervention takes place in the CDCynergy model and how it relates to communication
The intervention planning takes place during the third phase and is when communication planning begins. For each problem, planners must determine whether communication will be a dominant intervention or used as support for other interventions and write communication goals for all subgroups of the audience that will be targeted. Establishing the subgroups is done through audience segmentation, in which a large group is segmented based on common traits such as age. Once initial communication goals are established, planners engage in formative research to define each audience segment and identify the best practices for health communication within the targeted segments. The planners then rewrite the communication goals as measurable objectives that describe what the audience segments should gain. Along with the communication objectives, planners write a creative brief that summarizes key findings and the intended methods of reaching the audience. The objectives and creative brief are presented to stakeholders who must approve the plans.?
